FuTURE MOBILE COMMUNICATION FORUM (FuTURE FORUM) has recently initiated a series of public donation activities named ¡°FuTURE Action¡±. The first round of donation was made in Guang¡¯an City of Sichuan Province, one of the state-recognized poverty-stricken counties.

Having consulted with China Youth Development Foundation, FuTURE FORUM decided to donate a ¡°FuTURE Hope Project Library¡± , a ¡°FuTURE Hope Project Computer Room¡± and a great number of books to the central elementary school of Mujia Town in Linshui County, Guang¡¯an City, Sichuan Province. The donation activity was completed on January 30th of 2007, greatly supported by CCSA and TD-SCDMA Forum.

On January 30th, Staff from FuTURE FORUM and representatives from some Forum members arrived at the central elementary school of Mujia Town to hold the donation ceremony which was attended by the leaders from Linshui County Governments and the teachers at the central elementary school. Mr. Zhou Baoxin, Secretary-General of CCSA, Ms. Pan Feng, Assistant to Secretary-General of CCSA, Mr. Wu Zhanyong, Director of Secretariat Division of Administrative Affairs of CCSA, and representatives from TD-SCDMA Forum also attended the ceremony.

According to Ms. Fu Jun, Vice Secretary-General of FuTURE FORUM, they not only made the donation in the name of the Forum, but also introduced the donation activity to their Forum members depending on their influence on the mobile communication industry. Quite a few of representatives from the Forum members voluntarily offered financial support to dozens of students from poverty-stricken families during the six years¡¯ elementary education. Besides, Ms. Fu expressed that FuTURE FORUM would continue such public donation activities in different regions of China.

Prof. You Xiaohu, Chairman of the Expert Group of FuTURE Project, Secretary-General of FuTURE FORUM, indicated that FuTURE MOBILE COMMUNICATION FORUM not only undertakes the important mission to introduce China¡¯s mobile communication industry to the world as well as to make China part of the global mobile communication industry, but also pays a lot of attention to the general development of mobile communication technology in the poverty-stricken regions of China. In fact, many regions are still kept away from the rapidly developed mobile communication due to the poverty and ignorance which could only be solved by education. To contribute to the education in undeveloped areas is actually the original intention of ¡°FuTURE Action¡±.
