The second working group meeting of FuTURE FORUM

From July 12th to 13th of 2007, the second working group meeting of FuTURE FORUM in 2007 was held in Shanghai Jiangong Jinjiang Hotel, which was attended by over 60 representatives from the forum members including those from the new member Spreadtrum Communications Inc.

On July 12, the sub-meetings were held, on which the division of tasks was confirmed based on the discussion on the first meeting as well as on the preparation made during the past two months. The forum members submitted and discussed quite a number of technical articles on the sub-meetings, reached certain consensus on technology development, and disposed the following work in the future.

On July 13, according to the suggestions made by the members, Dr. Ma Ni from Philips, and Dr. Lang Baozhen from CATR were invited to introduce the recent research of WWRF, content of the Cross-Forum Meeting and the progresses of the ITU WP 8F Meeting, from which the working group members can learn rich experience to promote the research of the working groups to be connected with the international development. Subsequently, the chairmen of the six working groups respectively reported on the sub-meetings and exchanged opinions with the secretariat on the future working plan. On the afternoon, the secretariat organized a visit to the sensor network outfield of Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology, Chinese Academy of Science that locates in Jiaxing where the representatives had a heated discussion and exchange with the experts.

The working group meeting has achieved substantial progress in the related working scope of FuTURE FORUM, while the chairmen of the working groups suggested that the representatives from the members actively participate and support the work of FuTURE FORUM and make full use of FuTURE FORUM as a communicative platform to promote the R&D of various technologies with the expectation that more research results will be accumulated and the technical white paper books will be published within this year.
